Depending on the role, an understanding of transport and customer service can be beneficial, as can a good sense of commercial and financial awareness.
Logistics General Managers will need to possess excellent organisation skills and be able to take the lead quickly and effectively. As the head of a team, you should be comfortable managing, delegating and motivating staff and you may also need to provide training as appropriate.

Ross and Cromarty is part of the Highland council area, but is itself a historical county that spans the width of the northern parts of Scotland, including the Isle of Skye. It is well known for its breathtaking landscape, with mountains, lochs and rugged coastline making it one of Scotland’s best loved holiday destinations. However the static population is relatively small, focused mainly on fishing and agriculture, as well as tourism.
Ross and Cromarty is bordered to the north by Sutherland and to the south by Inverness-shire. It is served by eh A9 eastern coast road and the A835 that joins the A9 just north of Inverness and branches north west to Ullapool.
As far as management jobs in logistics, procurement and supply chain are concerned, prospects within the county are about in line with its population, so if you’re looking for General Manager work, looking further afield to Inverness, Elgin or such like might produce more opportunities.
