Depending on the role, an understanding of transport and customer service can be beneficial, as can a good sense of commercial and financial awareness.
Logistics General Managers will need to possess excellent organisation skills and be able to take the lead quickly and effectively. As the head of a team, you should be comfortable managing, delegating and motivating staff and you may also need to provide training as appropriate.

Perthshire is a large county right at the heart of Scotland, which now comes under the Perth and Kinross council area. It contains the Southern Highlands and vast tracts of agricultural land to the south, and has its administrative headquarters in the city of Perth. The city and county are served by the M90, A90, A9 and A85, as well as an extensive rail network. The county is home to several castles and Gleneagles hotel and gold course, home of Ryder Cups, Opens and even a G8 summit.
The county is reasonably well populated and Perth has a moderate population of around 50,000. The city is, however, well connected, with Edinburgh an hour down the road, and Dundee and Stirling about 45 minutes east and west respectively. Perthshire could have potential for anyone looking for General Manager work; agriculture and good transport links can often result in logistics and supply chain operations setting up.
