Successful candidates for General Manager roles should have a strong working knowledge of the technologies and other WMS systems commonly used in the industry. Depending on the role, an understanding of transport and customer service can be beneficial, as can a good sense of commercial and financial awareness.
Logistics General Managers will need to possess excellent organisation skills and be able to take the lead quickly and effectively. As the head of a team, you should be comfortable managing, delegating and motivating staff and you may also need to provide training as appropriate.

Midlothian is located to the south of Edinburgh, between East Lothian, West Lothian and the Scottish Borders (historically the Peebles-shire part). Its administrative headquarters is in Dalkeith in its northern area, a mile or so from Edinburgh’s south-eastern suburbs. Like many areas of Scotland, Midlothian has a smattering of castles and is a popular destination for day trippers from the city.
Thanks to its proximity to the capital, Midlothian is extremely well linked to the national road and rail network, and Edinburgh Airport is located just outside its north-western border. Although Midlothian is itself largely rural in nature, its main market for General Manager jobs and such like is probably Edinburgh, which the county wraps around.
