Role Profile

Cast UK is working with a well-established 3PL business who are looking for an experienced Transport Operations Supervisor. The successful candidate will closely support a key account for the business, based in Greater Manchester. The key to the role is to maximise the performance of the transport operation by directing the daily, weekly and monthly activities, providing leadership, motivation, training and development of the workforce, executing against customer requirements. Reporting into the General Manager, you will work Monday to Friday will flexibility on hours as required by business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervision of transport operation and drivers
• Responsible for compliance including H&S and Standard Operating Procedures, including accident investigation and route cause analysis
• Accountability for the management and supervision of front desk and co-ordinators
• Liaise with central planning team, and react accordingly where needed to ensure the plan is executed
• Effective leadership and management developing best practice across areas of responsibility
• Manage, support and develop the operational team through continuous improvement and proactive communication
• Ensure the performance of the operation exceeds customer expectations in line with recognised contract KPI's
• Liaise, support and develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers

Skills & Experience

• Able to perform under pressure and deal with unexpected issues and re-routing
• Previous experience of outbound distribution or Transport Operation
• A hands-on approach to operations is essential
• KPI development and measurement
• Ability to use and understand computerised systems including TMS and WMS systems
• Transport CPC or O-license desirable
