Facilities Director Jobs
The role of the Facilities Director involves the delivery of a full range of hard and soft facilities services, either through the management of a directly employed FM workforce, or through the management of outsourced service providers. They will be responsible for overseeing projects and the selection and performance management of the Facilities Management department.
Usually the Facilities Director has total accountability for expenditure associated with FM services and responsibility for overseeing the entire FM function from a staffing perspective, either on a regional, UK wide or international level.
The skills required
The Facilities Director must have experience in a similar senior Head of FM or Director's role, with a proven track record of successfully leading a team using strong influencing and negotiation skills.
They will demonstrate a passion for innovation and continuous improvement in order to provide strategic direction and development of the facilities operations.
Facilities Director Jobs in Anglesey
Anglesey is an island county off the coast of North Wales, but is an integral part of Wales itself, with Welsh culture part of its inherent makeup. The island was joined to mainland Wales in the nineteenth century by two bridges near Bangor, one designed by Thomas Telford, the other by Robert Stephenson. Anglesey’s population of around 70,000 is concentrated mainly in the north-west port of Holyhead, which houses around 14,000. It is also the county town and an important ferry port, with regular services to Dublin.
There is a certain amount of tourism in Anglesey, but not as much as there is on the North Wales coast. The island is rather agricultural in nature, although the port provides an important cluster of jobs and helps the economy greatly. As with any port town, Facilities Director jobs do become available in Holyhead, which makes Anglesey among the best place in the North Wales region to find such work.
