The skills required
When applying for a job as a supply chain manager, candidates should have demonstrable commercial acumen and excellent analytical and numerical skills.
An ability to communicate clearly with clients, stakeholders, directors and staff is a must and you should be capable of working in a busy environment where tight deadlines must be upheld. Negotiation, delegation and change management skills are also a must.
Successful applicants will also need to be IT literate and able to use spreadsheet and database software, as well as other relevant technology.

Depending on your age and where you live, you might well associate Rochdale with Gracie Fields, Cyril Smith or Lisa Stansfield, all of whom have drawn attention to the town of the last century. As with any large town, the population itself requires a large logistical effort to keep it fed, watered, clothed and stocked with life’s creature comforts. There’s a busy shopping area and a few trading estates dotted around the town. Many of the mill buildings are now used by small businesses or have been converted to living accommodation. Rochdale and Manchester do create Supply Chain Manager positions, and both have important logistics, procurement and supply chain industries.
