These formed part of new publication 'Delivering a road freight legacy' which was revealed as part of a London Freight Forum event earlier this month.
The document also looks at the success achieved by TfL, its partners and the industry when the 2012 London games were underway.
Now the body is set to work alongside The Mayor's Office and the various boroughs of London as well as the industry on trials investigating achieving an increased number of deliveries at less busy times of day.
This is being done in an effort to cut down on congestion, help other people using the roads and increase efficiency and speed for freight trips.
These trials are one aspect of a wider array of planned works attempting to alter goods and services delivery practices, which were recommended by the Mayor's Roads Task Force.
Trials are set to start early next year, it is hoped, while TfL is going to work alongside industry during the coming two years so as to create a more general and longer term strategy for the capital when it comes to freight.
Transport for London reports that in the London games, a lot of companies avoided disruption through altering delivery times – something which helped cut congestion when roads were busy and saved cash for many operators.
"These trials will benefit Londoners, businesses and the freight and logistics industry," commented commissioner on TfL, Sir Peter Hendy CBE.
"It's vital we harness the London 2012 Games legacy and maintain momentum while the details of the longer-term plans are developed."
Though issues exist that won't be dealt with overnight, through partnership it was possible to "build on recent successes and ensure that freight deliveries in London can be even safer, greener and more efficient in future", he added.
