The skills required
Management of people is a skill that will be essential in the operations manager, as they might oversee other managers as well as general staff members. Communicating company policy between the board and the workers is also key, so skills in performing this task clearly and accurately will be essential.
An ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and to consistently hit targets will matter immensely in the job, as customer satisfaction or tolerance can never be taken for granted in business.
An ability to spot inefficiencies and deal with them in a timely manner will greatly improve the profitability of the company and will therefore make the operations manager a valued member of any team. Doing this well whilst maintaining morale and customer satisfaction is key to the job.

Located 19 miles (30 km) to the east of Portsmouth, 23 miles (37 km) to the west of Brighton and 4 miles (7 km) south east of the cathedral city of Chichester, Bognor Regis is a relatively small town with a resident population of around 25,000. In the summer months, of course, this swells massively as tourists come to fill the hotels, B&Bs and the famous Butlin’s holiday camp. Many of its inhabitants will commute to the city or nearby towns for work, but the populace is economically active, which is why Operations Manager jobs might sometimes come up in the town or the surrounding area.
