Role Profile

Our client, who is an established and growing business, are looking to recruit an experienced and influential Transport Manager to join their team based in Dublin. Reporting into the Operations Director, you'll lead the transport strategy which includes 3PL management and in-house operations, with a focus on compliance and improving both efficiency & sustainability. The role is based near the airport, and you'll be based onsite Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Working with Transport team to contribute to yearly plans to improve business performance through Transport operations
• Lead daily end-to-end transport teams, developing and improving tactical and strategic plans to drive performance
• Lead and coach the Transport team to deliver against business objectives and goals
• Ownership of compliance, health &safety and sustainability across the Transport function
• Support the ongoing performance of all associated Transport Management Systems
• Manage 3PL partners and ensure SLA's are adhered to, addressing any issues in service promptly
• Drive CI initiatives across the transport function, with focus on improving service to both internal and external partners
• Lead the recruitment, selection, evaluation and development of the team

Skills & Experience Required

• Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership with ability to engage stakeholders at all levels including driver management
• Proven track record of negotiation and cost-saving with transport
• Experience using a variety of TMS - system implementations would be desirable
• Must have experience of managing hauliers/ 3PL/ sub-contractors - including SLA reviews
• Experience with Six Sigma, LEAN, or similar quality management methodologies
• Previous experience working in a unionised environment would be beneficial
