The skills required
Successful candidates for General Manager roles should have a strong working knowledge of the technologies and other WMS systems commonly used in the industry. Depending on the role, an understanding of transport and customer service can be beneficial, as can a good sense of commercial and financial awareness.
Logistics General Managers will need to possess excellent organisation skills and be able to take the lead quickly and effectively. As the head of a team, you should be comfortable managing, delegating and motivating staff and you may also need to provide training as appropriate.

County Londonderry is located at the north western side of Northern Ireland, with Antrim to its east and Tyrone to its south. It also shares a border with County Donegal in Eire. By far the largest settlement in County Londonderry is Derry, which has close to 100,000 population, which can be doubled if its environs are taken into account. With the population of the county at around 230,000, it’ not hard to see where the bulk of the population – and the best prospects for General Manager work – are located.
The county seat of County Londonderry is not Derry, however, it is Coleraine, 300 miles to the east, close to the border with County Antrim. With a population of 25,000, it is no small town, and should also be a promising place to find such work.
