Depending on the role, an understanding of transport and customer service can be beneficial, as can a good sense of commercial and financial awareness.
Logistics General Managers will need to possess excellent organisation skills and be able to take the lead quickly and effectively. As the head of a team, you should be comfortable managing, delegating and motivating staff and you may also need to provide training as appropriate.

Kirkcudbrightshire was a self-contained county until absorbed into Dumfries and Galloway in the 1970s. Its traditional neighbours were Wigtownshire, Ayrshire and Dumfriesshire, with the Irish Sea to its south. The county town of Kirkcudbright is a small fishing town situated in a natural harbour; the town is still quite small, with a population of about 3000. Much of the area of the traditional county is now taken up by the Galloway Forest Park, and tourism plays an important role in its economy.
Prospects for finding General Manager jobs in Kirkcudbrightshire are limited by it lack or major centres of population. However the tourism industry can create some opportunities, and the area is relatively well connected to the population centres of Scotland and England.
