The skills required
The executive recruiter has specific demands that can be difficult to find. It is often required that you have executive-level experience yourself to better understand the needs of the director and senior manager. At the same time, there will clearly need to be some experience in recruiting and HR to a senior level. Since it’s quite uncommon for these two qualities to be present in the same person, there will always be scope for a talented candidate to take an important step up the career ladder into executive recruitment.
Executive talent pipelines are all about quality, not quantity, so an executive recruiter will need to be part salesperson, selling the benefits of working for the company to ambitious executives with value to the industry. This could involve entertainment outside of office hours and possibly trips abroad if the company is casting its net widely. You will need to have a talent for identifying good executives and honestly assessing their suitability once contact has been made.

The county is large in area but small in population, its land mainly being used for agriculture. Sutherland is now part of the greater Highland council area. The county town is Dornoch (with a population of just over a thousand), down at eh south-eastern tip on the coast. The county is served by the A9 that runs up the east coast of northern Scotland, as well as the main railway to Inverness.
With such a sparse population, Executive Recruiter jobs and other such management and executive positions are quite uncommon in Sutherland itself. However, larger towns such as Inverness are an hours or so away by road from the southern parts of Sutherland, so focusing a job search in such towns might be a more fruitful option.
